The quality of the Press’s publishing was recognized more than 80 times across the globe in another strong year for awards. The awards covered multiple publishing categories and national markets.

BETT Awards

School Improvement Pathways and Big Writing Adventures


The UK-based BETT Awards recognize innovation and excellence in educational technology. A celebration of the inspiring creativity and innovation that can be found throughout technology for education, BETT award winners are judged to have excelled in ICT provision and support for nurseries, schools, and colleges.


School Improvement Pathways on Oxford Owl won the ICT Leadership & Management category. This simple online system provides essential leadership support and tools, built around a four-step approach common to schools across the UK.


Big Writing Adventures was awarded Best Primary Digital Content (Core Subject) after being shortlisted for three awards. The whole-school writing programme invites children to become special writing agents through a rich, interactive experience.

Dartmouth Medal

Oxford Encyclopedia of the Bible and Law


The Dartmouth Medal is the most prestigious US awards for reference publishing. It was established in 1974 and is awarded annually by the Reference and User Services Association (RUSA), a division of the American Library Association (ALA).


This year, the Dartmouth Medal was awarded to the Oxford Encyclopedia of the Bible and Law, edited by Brent Strawn. The winning work is part of the Oxford Encyclopedias of the Bible series, which consists of eight distinct sets containing essays by scholars from many countries and with a wide variety of perspectives.


OUP has won the Dartmouth Medal six times since 1999 and received four honourable mentions.

British Council ELTons

Oxford Discover and Oxford Learner's Dictionary of Academic English


The ELTons are the only international awards that recognize and celebrate innovation in English language teaching (ELT). The Press was recognized for Excellence in Course Innovation with Oxford Discover and for Innovation in Learner Resources with Oxford Learner’s Dictionary of Academic English.
